Include but are not limited to animal feeding, watering, observations and cage cleaning. Operates vivarium equipment including cage washers and floor machines. Maintains records in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies including the USDA. Entry level position (we are always willing to train hard workers who have an interest in gaining experience with animals in a laboratory setting). Applicants should: Have flexible availability for AM/ PM shifts, during the week and on weekends. Have reliable transportation and live a reasonable distance from the university (Doylestown, PA)Be 18 or older. Have a calm and caring demeanor when working with animals. Work conditions are hot and humid, with frequent animal contact and contact with allergens. Work is physically demanding with a requirement to lift 50 lbs. Minimum mental requirements necessary to perform key tasks including interpersonal communication, follow instructions, maintain attention to detail, comprehension (oral and written in English), understanding interrelationships between processes/activities, ability to forecast and anticipate consequences to actions, ability to coordinate activities logically, problem solving, maintain confidentiality, work with frequent interruptions, work efficiently, etc. Pay: $12/hour. Hours: 20-30 hours/week through August 23rd -Weekday shifts are 8 am-2 pm; weekends are 10 am- 1 pm (on a rotation), with the opportunity to work more hours outside of shift times.
